VESTIGE
The defining piece of the collection, explores the relationship between the body, gravity and shelter.
Drawing from the classical drapery of Rome and the flowing language of Eastern dress, the garment is constructed through a zero-waste, single-piece cut. Rather than imposing a predetermined structure onto the body, the fabric is allowed to respond to movement and gravity, falling naturally into its form.
There are no unnecessary panels. No excess seams. No discarded material.
Designed to be wrapped around the body in three distinct ways,The entire surface becomes the garment, allowing structure to emerge through the relationship between fabric, body and earth.
Rooted in the Eastern philosophy of 顺势而为 - moving with the forces around us rather than resisting them - YIELD proposes another way of thinking about protection.
When clothing no longer controls the body, but instead gently envelops it, the garment becomes more than clothing.
